Delhi Police has come on alert mode due to protests by opposition parties on the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The security arrangements for the inaugural event will be the same as on January 26 and August 15. All the borders of Delhi will be sealed from the morning of 28th May. No vehicle will be allowed to enter Delhi except the essential vehicle.

A top Delhi Police officer told that a fool-proof plan is being prepared for the security of the programme. The police are having regular meetings with the Home Ministry officials. The police have sought more companies of the paramilitary force from the Ministry of Home Affairs. All the neighboring states have been asked to stop the vehicles before the borders of Delhi, so that there is no problem like jam. Apart from this, people will be appealed to cooperate in the security system through social media.

Several VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries are likely to attend the inaugural programme. Delhi Traffic Police officials have made adequate arrangements for smooth movement of traffic. Police has advised people to avoid New Delhi area if not necessary. However, traffic will continue to move in New Delhi. Due to the inauguration of the Parliament House, some routes will be affected from 5.30 am to 3 pm or the traffic will be heavy.

The area of ​​New Delhi district will be considered as controlled area. Only public transport vehicles, civil service candidates, bonafide residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed in New Delhi district.

Restricted Area

From Mother Teresa Ceresent Road Golchakkar(R/A), Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, R/A Gol Dak Khana, Ashoka Road, R/A Patel Chowk, Ashoka Road, R/A Windsor Place, Janpath, R/A MLNP The cordoned off area, Akbar Road, R/A Gol Methi, Akbar Road, R/A GKP, Teen Murti Marg, R/A Teen Murti and Mother Teresa Ceresent Road will be considered as regulated areas. Only civil service candidates, bonafide residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed to move within the zone.
